Tent specs are easy to print and hard to trust. Our planned fair-weather test of a sub-$200 two-person tent turned into forty hours of sideways rain — the most honest review conditions money can't book.
Where it earned its keep
- The floor held — a proper bathtub floor kept ground-water out all weekend.
- Taped seams, no drips — the cheap-tent failure point, passed.
- Vestibule space — muddy boots and wet packs stayed outside the sleeping area.
Verdict'Two-person' still means 'two friendly people', and the poles ask for care in wind. But dry is the only spec that matters, and this one delivers it at half the big-brand price.
